Mein letzter Teil der kleinen Ibiza Impressions Serie. Dieses Mal geht es um die schönsten Strände und Ausflugsziele auf der Insel.

My last part of the small Ibiza Impressions series. This time it’s about the most beautiful beaches and destinations on the island.

ES VEDRÀ & CALA D’HORT

Einer meiner Lieblingsorte auf Ibiza ist die kleine, verstecke Bucht mit dem wunderschönen Strand namens Cala d’Hort. Nicht nur ist der Strand wunderschön, das Meer ultra klar und die ganze Atmosphäre grandios, sondern auch die Aussicht: denn vom Cala d’Hort hat man direkte Sicht auf die Insel Es Vedrà.

Es Vedrà ist eine unbewohnte Insel mit einem 400m hohem Felsen der aus dem Meer heraus ragt. Die Insel wird auch als magical island bezeichnet, denn um sie ragen sich unendlich viele Mythen und Geschichten. So ist es angeblich der dritt magnetischste Punkt der Erde, Navigationsgeräte fallen wohl immer mal wieder aus und demnach ist die Insel eine Art zweites Bermudadreieck. Daneben sollen dort auch Aliens leben, UFOs landen und neben bzw unter Es Verdà liegt angeblich die versunkene Stadt Atlantis…
Es ist also ein Ort voller Spiritualität und Magie.
Auch wenn man an die Mythen rund um Es Vedrà nicht glaubt, ist der Felsen wirklich ein wunderbarer, magischer Anblick und der Sonnenuntergang absolut wunderschön und unvergesslich.

One of my favourite places on Ibiza is the small, hidden bay with the beautiful beach called Cala d’Hort. Not only is the beach beautiful, the sea ultra clear and the whole atmosphere grandios, but also the view is absolutely amazing: from the Cala d’Hort you have direct view on the island Es Vedrà.

Es Vedrà is an uninhabited island with a 400m high rock that stands out from the sea. The island is also known as magical island, because it is surrounded by many myths and stories. It is said to be the third most magnetic point on earth, navigation devices fail every now and then and therefore the island is a kind of second Bermuda triangle. Besides, there are stories about aliens and UFOs on the island and beside or under Es Verdà there is supposedly the sunken city Atlantis…
It is therefore a place full of spirituality and magic.
Even if one does not believe in the myths around Es Vedrà, the rock is really a wonderful, magical sight and the sunset is absolutely beautiful and unforgettable.

CALA BENIRRÁS

Ein weitere Lieblingsstrand und Ort von mir auf Ibiza ist Cala Benirrás. Der Strand hier ist im Gegensatz zu Cala d’Hort weniger sandig sondern etwas gröber und im Meer teilweise durch Kies durchsetzt. Aber auch hier wieder wunderschönes, glasklares Wasser.

Auch beim Cala Benirrás gibt es einen Felsen den man vom Strand aus sehen kann. Im Vergleich zu Es Verdà wirkt der Felsen etwas kleiner, allerdings nicht weniger magisch oder wundervoll. Ein besonderes Highlight bei Benirrás: jeden Sonntag Abend trommeln Hippies einen in den Sonnenuntergang hinein. Ein weiteres magisches Erlebnis.

Another favourite beach and place of mine on Ibiza is Cala Benirrás. The beach here is in contrast to Cala d’Hort less sandy but a little coarser and in the sea partly interspersed with gravel. But also here again beautiful, crystal clear water.

Again at Cala Benirrás there is a rock that can be seen from the beach. Compared to Es Verdà, the rock looks a bit smaller, but no less magical or wonderful. A special highlight at Benirrás: every Sunday evening hippies drum you into the sunset. Another magical experience.

FORMENTERA

Formentera ist eine weitere Insel der Balearen, neben Mallorca, Menorca und Ibiza. Demnach nicht einfach nur eine Bucht zu der man fahren kann auf Ibiza, sondern ein richtiges Ausflugsziel. Nach Formentera kommt man von unterschiedlichen Orten aus mit dem Boot. Am einfachsten und schnellsten von Ibiza Stadt, hier fährt jede 20 Minuten eine Fähre die ca 30 Minuten braucht. Andernfalls kann man auch sehr gut von St. Antonio nach Formentera fahren, umrundet dabei noch etwas Ibiza und kommt auch an Es Verdà vorbei. Diese Fahrt haben wir genommen.

Formentera wird auch immer gern als Karibik des Mittelmeers bezeichnet. Und das ist in der Tat wahr: die Strände sind weiß, weich und wunderschön, das Meer glasklar, warm und super flach meterlang. Die Insel ist auch Abseits der Strände wunderschön und da sie ein Naturschutzgebiet ist nicht nur sauber sondern noch sehr gut erhalten. Daher haben wir uns auch dazu entschlossen kein Auto zu mieten und stattdessen Fahrräder. Eine wirklich tolle Entscheidung, denn durch die Dünen mit den Fahrrädern zu fahren war wirklich wundervoll.

Formentera is another island in the Balearic Islands, alongside Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. Thus, it is not just a bay to which one can drive on Ibiza, but a real destination for excursions. Formentera can be reached by boat from different places. The easiest and fastest way is from Ibiza city, there is a ferry every 20 minutes that takes about 30 minutes. Otherwise, one can also take a boat from St. Antonio to Formentera, circumnavigating a little bit of Ibiza and also passing Es Verdà. We took this trip.

Formentera is also often referred to as the Caribbean of the Mediterranean. And this is indeed true: the beaches are white, soft and beautiful, the sea crystal clear, warm and super flat meters long. The island is also beautiful away from the beaches and as it is a nature reserve is not only clean but still very well preserved. Therefore we decided not to rent a car but bicycles. A really great decision, because riding through the dunes with the bicycles was really wonderful.
