IBIZA IMPRESSIONS #1

Es ist bereits einige Zeit her, seit ich aus meinem Urlaub auf Ibiza zurück bin, und doch habe ich den Blog immer noch nicht aktualisiert, was ich getan habe und was man sehen und besuchen kann, wenn man auf dieser schönen Insel Urlaub macht. Daher dachte ich, warum nicht jetzt? Da dies ein ziemlich langer Beitrag sein wird, kommen hier nun all die guten Dinge, die ich auf Ibiza gemacht habe:

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been back from my holiday galore on Ibiza and yet I still haven’t updated the blog on what I did, where I stayed and what to see and visit when vacationing on this beautiful island. So I thought why not do it now? As this will be quite the long post, without further ado here is where I stayed, what I visited and all the other good stuff I did on Ibiza:

IBIZA

Ibiza ist Teil der Balearen im Mittelmeer. Die Insel gehört zu Spanien, aber die Leute dort sprechen auch Katalanisch, da es sich um die inoffizielle Amtssprache handelt….. Ihr kennt die Insel wahrscheinlich als Partyinsel, die im Gegensatz zu ihrer Schwester Mallorca viel teurer ist und somit einen etwas anderen Klientel hat. Dennoch muss man nicht unbedingt nur nach Ibiza fahren, um zu feiern. Tatsächlich kann man auch sehr gut dort hin reisen und sich einfach entspannen, die Sonne, gute Speisen und Getränke genießen.
Die beste Reisezeit nach Ibiza ist sicherlich zwischen Mai und Oktober. In den Wintermonaten (November – April) sind die meisten Hotels, Clubs, Restaurants und touristischen Attraktionen geschlossen und auch das Wetter wird im Winter viel kälter und windige. Im Gegensatz dazu sind die Sommer auf der Insel sehr heiß, mit langen Sonnenstunden und wenig Regen. Mai und Juni sind in der Regel etwas unberechenbarer, da das Wetter und die Abende immer noch sehr kühl sind. Juli bis September sind die heißesten Monate und so erwärmen sie das Land und das Meer. Deshalb ist es eigentlich eine ziemlich gute Idee, im Oktober nach Ibiza zu reisen, denn das Wetter ist immer noch warm und sonnig (durchschnittlich 25°) und das Meer hat sich in den Sommermonaten erwärmt, so dass ein Bad im Meer super angenehm ist. Nur Abends geht die Sonne früher unter (gegen 19:30/20:00 Uhr) und dann wird es schneller kälter, aber nichts, das man nicht durch ein gutes Getränk und eine wärmere Jacke beheben kann.

Ibiza is part of to the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It belongs to Spain however they also speak Catalan on the island, as it’s they’re unofficial language… You probably know the island as the party island that unlike its sister Mallorca is way more expensive and thus has a bit of a different clientele. Yet, you do not have to go to Ibiza to party. In fact you can absolutely travel there and just relax, enjoy the sun and good food and drinks and relax.
Best time to travel to Ibiza certainly is between May and October. During the winter months (November – April) most hotels, clubs, restaurants and touristic attractions are closed and also the weather will get way colder and windier in winter. Contrary the summers are very very hot on the island with long hours of sunshine and little rain. May and June tend to be a bit more unpredictable weather wise and the evenings are still really chilly. July till September are the hottest months and thus they warm up the land and the sea. Which is why, travelling to Ibiza in October actually is a great idea, as the weather is still warm and sunny (25° on average) and the ocean has heated up during the summer months so a dip into the sea is as enjoyable as it gets. Only at night time the sun sets quicker (around 7:30/8:00pm) and then it does get colder quicker, however nothing a good drink and a warmer jacket can’t fix.

HOTEL

Die erste und wichtigste Frage: Wo soll man wohnen? Ibiza hat viele großartige Städte und man können auf allen Seiten der Insel ebenso gute Hotels oder Unterkünfte finden. Der Osten ist angeblich etwas ruhiger, während der Westen mehr Clubs und Partymöglichkeiten bietet. Eine der wichtigsten Partystädte der Insel ist Sant Antonio oder wie sie es dort nennen Sant Antoni. Während ich kein Fan von Aufenthalten in einer Partystadt bin, habe ich mich für ein Hotel entschieden, das eine Bucht von Saint Antonio entfernt liegt. So konnten wir die Partymeile und alle Lichter nachts von unserem Hotel aus sehen, hatten aber keine Partygeräusche oder betrunkene Touristen vor unserer Tür …

Das Hotel, für das wir uns entschieden haben, war das Amàre Beach Ibiza – ein echtes Instagram Hotel, wie ich es gerne nenne. Wunderschönes, cleanes Interieur, noch schöneres Exterieur. Großartiges Dekor, toller Pool und Lounge-Bereich. Eine schöne Dachterrasse für die Apero-Sessions bei Sonnenuntergang, ein Infinity-Pool auf dem Dach und ein privater Strandabschnitt. Was kann man nicht lieben? Das Zimmer, in dem wir übernachteten, war wunderschön und vom Balkon aus hatten wir einen Blick über den Hauptbereich des Pools sowie den Strand und damit ein Zimmer mit Meerblick. Den ganzen Tag lang gab es Live-Musik am Pool, die auch bis zum Strand zu hören war, wo wir den ganzen Tag blieben. Abends setzten sich die Live-Musik-Sessions mit DJ’s, Sängern und anderen Musikern auf der Dachterrasse fort, wo wir Abends, während die Sonne über dem Meer unterging, vor dem Abendessen einen oder zwei Cocktails genossen. Das Essen war auch super und das originelle Cocktailmenü enttäuschte wirklich nicht. Zudem gab es Dienstags und Donnerstags eine Stunde Zirkeltraining mit einem personal Trainer und Mittwochs und Freitags Rooftop Sunrise Yoga. Die kostenlosen Sportkurse und auch den Fittnessraum an sich habe ich tatsächlich mehr genutzt als ich anfangs gedacht hätte. Ich kann das Hotel also wirklich nur empfehlen.

Das Zimmer / The Room

The first and most important question: where to stay? Ibiza has many great towns and you can find equally great hotels or accommodations on either side of the island. The east is said to be a bit more quiet, while the west has more clubs and party possibilities. One of the main party cities of the island is Sant Antonio or as they call it over there Sant Antoni. While I’m no fan of staying in a total party town, I did decide on a hotel that was a bay away from Saint Antonio. Thus we could see the party mile and all the lights at night from our hotel but didn’t hear any party noise or had drunk tourists at our doorstep…

So the hotel we decided to stay in was Amàre Beach Ibiza – a real Instagram hotel, as I like to call it. Beautiful interior, even prettier exterior. Great decor, great pool and lounge area. A beautiful rooftop terrace for that sunset apero sessions, an infinity pool on the rooftop and a private beach section. What not to love? The room we stayed in was beautiful and the balcony we had overlooked the main pool area as well as the beach and thus ocean view. All day long there was live music at the pool that also travelled down to the beach area, which is where we stayed all day. In the evenings the live music sessions continued with DJ’s, singers and other musicians on the rooftop terrace, where we enjoyed and cocktail or two each night while the sun was setting over the ocean, before dinner. The food was great as well and their original cocktail menu really didn’t disappoint. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there was an hour of circuit training with a personal trainer and on Wednesdays and Fridays Rooftop Sunrise Yoga. I actually used the free sports courses and the gym more than I had thought at the beginning. So I highly recommend this hotel.
