JOURNÉES PARISIENNES #2

Jedes Jahr versuche ich eine neue Stadt oder ein neues Land zu bereisen. Aber egal wohin es mich schlägt, es gibt einen Ort an den ich jährlich zurückkehre: Paris!

Wie viele von Euch betimmt wissen, habe ich ein Auslandssemester in Paris verbacht und am Ende sogar den Trip verlängert, um dort noch ein Praktikum zu machen und habe so fast ein ganzes Jahr in dieser wunderschönen Stadt verbracht. Während viele Leute Paris hassen oder zumindest nicht sonderlich attraktiv finden, bin ich einer der größten Paris Fans die es da draußen gibt… und daher versuche ich auch mindestens einmal im Jahr nach Paris zu kommen um meine Freunde wieder zu sehen.

Every year I try to visit a new city and/or country. But no matter where I travel to, there’s always one destination I visit each year: Paris!

As you may know, I spent my semester abroad in Paris and extended my trip for an internship there and therefore spent almost one year in this beautiful city. And while many people hate Paris or at least aren’t big fans of the city, I for one am the biggest there is… and so I try to re-visit once a year and meet up with all my friends.

Ich war bereits zu jeder Jahreszeit in Paris, aber meine Lieblingssaison ist und bleibt der Sommer: die Stadt ist viel leerer als zu anderen Jahreszeiten, da alle Pariser ans Meer geflohen sind und auch viel weniger Touristen herumlaufen. Und dank dieser unendlich vielen Straßen die man in Ruhe und fast alleine genießen kann, ist August der perfekte Monat für einen französischen Kurzurlaub…

I’ve been to Paris every time of the year but my favourite definitely has to be summertime: the city is far less crowded as all Parisians are out in the country and seaside and there aren’t as many tourists as in other months. And with endless streets to roam and empty boulevards it is the perfect time for a little getaway…

This week I’ve planned a little Paris special as I’m sharing with you my Paris travel diary of the five weeks I’ve spent there this month and also a little compilation of my outfits I’ve worn while there.

So without further ado: here it is mes journées parisiennes #2

Der zweite Tag war ziemlich voll gepackt und es ging los mit einem kleinen Spaziergang über die Promenade Plantée – eine alte Eisenbahnstrecke, die jetzt als perfekter Rückzugsort mitten in der Stadt fungiert. Perfekt um all den anderen Touristen zu entfliehen, oder der Hitze und etwas Ruhe zu genießen…

The Second Day was quite packed and started with a lovely trip over the Promenade Plantée – an old railway that now functions as a little getaway spot in the middle of the city – perfect for a quiet stroll and to flee the tourists or the heat…

Weiter ging es direkt um die Ecke der Promenade Plantée und der Bastille mit einer Bootstour auf dem Canal Saint-Martin. Startpunkt war der Port de l’Aresnal direkt an der Bastille. Zunächst unterirdisch unter den Straßen Paris geht es dann entlagn der vielen Schleusen auf dem Kanal bis ins Bassin de la Vilette. Eine wirklich sehenswerte Tour und die perfekte Möglichkeit, ein etwas weniger bekannten Teil der Stadt zu entdecken – Abseits des großen Troubels.

Next we went just around the corner form the Promenade Plantée and the Bastille to take a boat trip on the Canal Saint-Martin. Starting point was the Port de l’Arsenal next to the Bastille. You start off the tour underground – under the streets of Paris – and then along the many locks that make the Canal Saint-Martin to what it is until finally arriving at the Bassin de la Vilette. For me this is a great way to discover a less known part of Paris and also have some quality time away form all the other tourists and the noise.

Nach der langen Canal Tour haben wir uns mit einer Freundin getroffen, die ich damals während meines Studiums in Paris kennengelernt hatte. Zusammen sind wir ins Point Ephémère – früher mal Rock & Roll Venue, jetzt gechillte Bar und am Wochenende Elektro Club. (200 Quai de Valmy, 75010 )

After the long Canal Tour we met up with a friend of mine I’ve met while living in Paris. We went to the Point Ephémère – a former Rock & Roll place now turned chilled bar and electro club on the weekends. (200 Quai de Valmy, 75010 )
