2016 neigt sich dem Ende zu und somit blickt man gerne zurück, auf das Gute sowie Schlechte. Ob politische und soziale Geschehnisse oder kulturelle Entwicklungen. So gut wie alles scheint in der Woche zwischen Weihnachten und dem Neuen Jahr analysiert zu werden. Das gilt natürlich auch für Mode und Beauty.
Dementsprechend beliebt sind die sogenannten „Best Of“ Videos und Posts. Die besten Gadgets, Filme, Musik und Produkte werden dabei gelistet und man bekommt sozusagen eine Zusammenfassung des vergangenen Jahres.
Ich wollte mich diesem Zug ebenfalls anschließen und einen kleinen „Best of Beauty“ Post machen. Hierbei geht es nicht nur um Produkte die 2016 erschienen sind, sondern auch um Produkte und Marken die ich dieses Jahr für mich entdeckt habe.
In keinem Jahr zuvor habe ich derart viele qualitativ hochwertiges Makeup und Beauty Produkte besessen und mich so sehr damit auseinander gesetzt wie dieses. Und weil ich ständig auf der Suche nach neuen Produkten und Ideen bin, teile ich meine Beauty Lieblinge des Jahres 2016 mit euch:
2016 is coming to an end and everyone likes to take a look back at all the good and the bad. Whether it’s political and social incidents or cultural developments. It seems like everything is getting analyzed in the week between Christmas and New Years. And of course, fashion and beauty trends are among those as well.
It’s no wonder „Best Of“ videos and posts are as popular this time of the year. The best gadgets, movies, music, and products are being listed and you get a little summary of what’s been hot this year.
I jumped on the band wagon as well and decided to do a „Best of Beauty“ post. Unlike others, I won’t limit myself purely to products that have been released this year, but I’ll mainly include products that I’ve discovered this year.
There hasn’t been a year in my life, in which I bought so many high end makeup and beauty products. And because I’m always on the hunt for some new goodies, I thought I’d give you a little run down of what I’ve loved this year:
HOURGLASS – AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT PALETTE
Das erste Beauty Produkt, das ich mir dieses Jahr geleistet habe, war die Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette.
In der Palette sind drei Puder, zwei Rouge und ein Bronzer in verschiedenen Tönen. Nicht nur sind die Farben der sechs Puder wunderschön sondern sie kommen richtig gut heraus, ohne dass man viel Produkt benötigt.
Es ist die perfekte Palette für den Sommer, da alle Farben schimmern und das Licht perfekt reflektieren. Aber auch jetzt im Winter nutze ich diese Palette noch täglich.
The first beauty product I splurged on this year was this beautiful palette by Hourglass.
The palette contains three different shades of powder, two different blush tones, and a beautiful bronzer. Not only the colors of the six powders are incredible but they are also highly pigmented without needing a lot of product.
It’s the perfect palette for summer since the colours are super shimmery and perfectly reflect light but even now during winter I still use this palette every day.
DIOR – DIORBLUSH LIGHT & CONTOUR SCULPTING STICK DUO
Contouring war wohl einer DER Beauty Trends des Jahres. Je mehr desto besser – das war gefühlt die Devise. Und auch ich habe mich am Contouring versucht. Zuerst war es der NYX Contouring Stick, der zwar einen guten Contour gibt, der Highlight allerdings etwas zu wünschen übrig lässt. Eine Freundin brachte mich dann auf den Light & Contour Stick von Dior. Der cremige Contour ist ultra pigmentiert und ein kleiner Strich reicht aus um ultimative Definition zu erreichen. Daneben ist die Highlighter Seite super schimmernd und beides hält ewig.
Contouring was one of the biggest beauty trends this year. The more the merrier seemed to be the way to go. And I tried out contouring myself. Since I was new to the topic I decided to start with a simple contour and highlighting stick that would probably provide everything I needed. The first one I tried out was the Contour Stick by NYX and even though I loved the contouring side, the highlighter side didn’t impress me. A friend of mine told me about this one by Dior and so I decided to get it and I didn’t regret it! The stick is ultra creamy and super blendable but at the same time highly pigmented, so a little really goes a long way! The highlighter is super shimmery.
COVER FX – CUSTOM ENHANCER DROPS
Wenn wir bereits beim Contouring und Highlighting sind. Meine neuste Errungenschaft und ein kleines Weihnachtsgeschenk für mich selbst sozusagen, sind die Cover FX Costum Enhancer Drops. Highlighting und Contouring Drops. Es gibt sie in verschiedenen Tönen, je nach belieben zum Highlighten oder Contouring und ich habe mir einen Highlighter ausgesucht, in der Farbe Moonlight. Ich mag es besonders, um meinen ganzen Teint etwas mehr glänzen zu lassen. Ein kleiner Tropfe in die Foundation gemischt genügt, um das Gesicht zum Strahlen zu bringen. Für den extra Glow, kann man einige Tupfer über den Creme Highlighter (wie beispielsweise der von Dior) auftragen
Speaking of contouring and highlighting. The newest addition to my makeup collection is the beautiful Cover FX Costum Enhancer Drops – or at least one of them. It’s equally highlighting or contouring drops, depending on the colour you pick. I personally went for the highlighter in the colour Moonlight. Not only is the colour gorgeous and the pigmentation extreme but I really fell in love with it as a way to illuminate my entire face. Just one tiny drop mixed into the foundation is enough to give yourself a wonderful glow. If you want to go even brighter, just tap it onto your cream highlighter (e.g. the one by Dior).
CLINIQUE – ANTI-BLEMISH SOLUTIONS LIQUID MAKEUP
Auch ein neues Makeup musste dieses Jahr her, nachdem ich für die gefühlt letzten fünf Jahre ein und dieselbe Foundation benutzt habe. Ich habe eher schlechte Haut, die ich mit Hilfe von dermatologischen Produkten und regelmäßigen Hautreinigungen so gut es geht im Schach halte. Daher hatte ich jahrelang ein spezielles Makeup aus der Apotheke gegen unreine Haut. Zwar war das Makeup super und hat selbst nach so langer Zeit noch gewirkt – oder zumindest ist meine Haut nie schlechter geworden – allerdings gab es nur zwei Farbtöne, wovon der hellere mir im Winter viel zu hell war. Ich schwöre auf französische Kosmetik und von daher war mir klar, dass ich ein Makeup einer französischen Kosmetikmarke nehmen würde, was speziell gegen unreine Haut gerichtet war. Die Wahl lag schließlich zwischen einem von La Roche Posay, von welchem meine Mitbewohnerin in Paris geschwärmt hatte, und dem Anti-Blemish Solutions Makeup von Clinique, welches es schließlich geworden ist.
Das Makeup ist super, der Farbton, welchen ich mir geben hab lassen ebenfalls und meine Haut ist definitiv nicht schlechter geworden. Das Makeup hat zwar keine ultimativ hohe Deckkraft und am Abend habe ich immer eine ölige Stirn, aber das war mir bereits vor dem Kauf bewusst und so bin ich restlos zufrieden mit dem Produkt.
For years I’ve been in search for a new foundation but I never really bothered to actually get a new one… For the last five years, I’ve been using a special acne makeup I could only get at the pharmacy. Since my skin was rather bad I only used this and was always quite unsure of changing the foundation. The biggest problem with this foundation was, that it only had two shades, where the lighter one would always bee too dark during winter. So I finally went out to get a new foundation. I knew that I would still want a dermatological one that was specialized for bad skin and I knew that I wanted something from a French brand. I’ve never had a bad experience with French cosmetics and everyone I know loves it. At first I was drawn towards a foundation by La Roche Posay that my roommate in Paris used, but in the end, I decided on the Anti-Blemish Solutions Foundation by Clinique.
The foundation is great! The shades I was advised to get really fit’s my skin town and my complexion hasn’t gotten worse. I knew that the foundation wouldn’t be full coverage and won’t stay on all day and all night, but I am still very happy, that I chose this one!
NYX – LIQUID SUEDE CREAM LIPSTICK
DIE Drogerie Beautymarke des Jahres in Deutschland ist definitiv NYX. Der Hype darüber, dass es die Marke von nun an in ausgewählten DM laden gab, anstelle von der üblichen Selektion in Douglas war extrem. Und obwohl es in München genug Douglass Filialen gibt und ich stets die Möglichkeit gehabt hätte, mir NYX Produkte zu kaufen, muss ich um ehrlich zu sein sagen, dass ich erst durch die Umsiedelung auf die Drogeriekette so wirklich Kenntnis von der Marke genommen habe und sie auch selbst ausprobieren wollte. Besonders die Lippenprodukte haben mir es angetan. Ob die Matte Lip Creams, die Liquid Suede Lipglosse oder die riesen Auswahl an Nudes der Lingerie Reihe, die sehr an die Kylie Jenner Lipglosse erinnert, alle Lippenprodukte die ich getestet habe, haben mich absolut überzeugt. Daher mussten sie einfach mit auf meine Best Of Liste.
THE drugstore beauty brand of the year in Germany clearly is NYX Cosmetics. Even though you could already get NYX products in high-end beauty stores in Germany, getting this brand into the local drugstores was a big thing. So I went out to get a bunch of different products and tried them out and what really got me, were their lip products. Whether it’s a matte lip cream, a liquid suede lipgloss or – my favourites – one of the gorgeous nudes from the lingerie collection, all of these products are simply amazing. So, of course, they had to go on this list!
L’ORÉAL – SUPER LINER CARBON GLOSS (WATERPROOF)
Eyeliner gehört zu meiner Makeup Routine. Früher habe ich jeden Tag Eyeliner getragen – ohne Ausnahme! Heute verzichte ich ab und an darauf, aber freue mich jedes Mal aufs neue, wenn ich mir einen Cat Eye schminke. Wie bereits erwähnt habe ich recht ölige Haut, was leider nicht nur meine T-Zone betrifft, sondern auch meine Augenlieder. Einen flüssigen Eyeliner zu finden, der den Tag überdauerte und mich nach ein paar Stunden nicht wie ein Panda aussehen lässt, ist daher nicht gerade einfach. Eine Freundin mit ähnlichen Hautproblemen empfahl mir den Super Liner von L’Oréal auszuprobieren. Natürlich die wasserfeste Extra Black Version. Und ich muss sagen, er hält! Egal ob ich den ganzen Tag durch die Stadt renne, Fahrrad fahre, mir die Kälte tränen in die Augen treibt, oder ich abends noch in den Sport gehe. Der Eyeliner sitzt und bleibt auch dort, wo er sein muss. Definitiv eines meiner besten Produkte des Jahres.
A must in my makeup routine is a winged line. There was a time when I literally wore eyeliner every single day and even though right now I don’t do it each day, I still love doing a Cat Eye every now and then! As I already mentioned I have quite oily skin – not only on my T-Zone but also on my eyelids. So finding a liquid liner that will actually stay isn’t as easy as you’d think. A friend that has similar problems with her skin recommended this one by L’oréal to me and I absolutely love it. Whether I spend the whole day shopping, ride my bike, cry because of the cold wind or do a workout in the evening – the eyeliner will stay exactly where I applied it in the morning. No more looking like a Panda by midday!
Obviously, this product had to go on my list as well.
Das war sie auch schon, meine kleine, aber feine Liste. Ich mag nicht viele Produkte in der Liste haben, dafür sind es aber alles Dinge, die ich definitiv wöchentlich, wenn nicht sogar täglich benutze und die ich in meiner Makeup Sammlung nicht missen will.
