Wenn man sieben Monate in einer anderen Stadt, in einem anderen Land lebt, dann kann man wohl sagen, dass man sich in besagter Stadt auskennt. Und man wagt zu behaupten, dass man Geheimtipps hat, welche nicht in Reiseführern zu finden sind.
Ich werde hier also eine kleine Liste an „Geheimtipps“ für Paris anbieten – oder einfach nur meine Lieblingsorte in Paris vorstellen.
After living in a different city, in a foreign country, for seven months, you can easily say to know that city well. And you can even dare to claim to know secret spots and places you won’t be able to find in any city guide.
So here I’m going to try my best to create a little list of “secret“ places in Paris – or just simply my favorite spots in Paris.

- Etwas abseits: Parc des Buttes – Chaumont
Parc des Buttes – Chaumont, 1 Rue Botzaris (Métro: Buttes Chaumont)
Diesen Park habe ich erst bei meiner dritten Reise nach Paris entdeckt. Denn gelegen im 19. Arrondissement ist er wirklich weit ab vom Schuss. Das macht ihn umso sympathischer. Weder nervige Touristen, noch Menschenmassen sind in diesem Park anzutreffen. So kann man die knappen 25 Hektar Grünfläche in Ruhe erkunden.
Highlights: die Sicht auf das Sacré Coeur von einem der Hügel. Daneben gibt es eine ziemlich coole Hängebrücke über einen kleinen See, welche zu einem Tempel führt. Der Tempel ist übrigens einer Prophetin gewidmet.
This park was fairly new to me as well, since I didn’t discover it until my third trip to Paris. Mainly because of its location, since the park is hidden in the 19th arrondissement. Yet this makes it a great place to visit. Neither tourists, nor big groups of people are overcrowding this park – so one has time to explore the 25 ha of green space in peace.
Highlights: a great view of the Sacré Coeur. Also the hanging bridge over a little lake that leads to a temple on a hill is amazing. By the way, the temple is dedicated to a prophetess.
- Very British: Parc Monceau
Parc Monceau, 35 Boulevard des Courcelles (Métro: Monceau)
Wer klassische und typische Pariser Parks wie den Jardin des Tuileries oder den Jardin du Luxmebourg mag, ist im Parc Monceau genau richtig. Obwohl viel kleiner als die weiteren genannten Parks, hat der Parc Monceau einen gewissen Charme. Der im 8. Arrondissement gelegene Park erinnert mich sehr an den St. James’s Park in London.
If you’re into more classic parks with the typical Parisian flair, like the Jardin des Tuileries or the Jardin du Luxembourg, you’re going to love the Parc Monceau. Even though it’s much smaller than the other ones, it still has this special something. This park reminds me of the St. James’s Park in London – which is my absolute favorite in London!
- Modern: Parc de la Villette
Parc de la Villette, 211 Avenue de Jean Jaurès (Métro: Porte de la Villette, Porte de Pantin)
Genauso unbekannt wie der Parc des Buttes-Chaumont ist der Parc de la Villette. Ebenfalls im 19. Arrondissement und ebenfalls einer der größten Parks von Paris, ist er doch ganz anders als sein klassischer Nachbar.
Der Park soll die urbane Umwelt unserer Zeit widerspiegeln. So finden sich nicht nur Grünflächen, sondern auch moderne Gebäude, unter anderem die Konzerthalle Zenith, das IMAX/180 Grad Kino La Géode oder die Cité des sciences et de l’industrie – das größte populärwissenschaftliche Museum Europas, darin.
Der Mix aus futuristischen Gebäuden und klassischen Parkelementen, macht den abseits gelegenen Park mit seinen 55ha zu einem Ort den man gesehen haben sollte.
The Parc de la Villette is as unknown as the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. Both of them are located in the 19th arrondissement and both of them belong to the biggest parks of Paris. Yet the two green spaces are very different. The Parc de la Villette is set to mirror the urban environment and thus one can find green spaces but also modern architecture, such as the concert hall Zenith, the IMAX/180 degree cinema La Géode or the biggest popular science museum in Europe the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie.
This fresh mix of modern architecture and classic park elements, makes the 55ha park to one of the places to see.
